We want to thank you! Many of our tour bookings come through word of mouth referrals and we’re always very appreciative of this wonderful endorsement from our clients. With that in mind, we’ve put a formal Referral Rewards scheme in place to thank those who continue to promote us.
The Papatoetoe Ravens U12 rugby team is setting its sights on Europe for 2020. Yes, you read that correctly. This team of young players is off to the other side of the world to compete in, not just one, but two international tournaments next April! The Ravens will be the first New Zealand team ever to attend the MT Welsh Rugby Festival and also the first to compete in the French Global Games Junior Rugby Festival. It’s rare to see a junior team travelling this far at such a young age and we’re very proud to be helping them make this dream a reality. As the exclusive travel partner of the Global Games we’ve worked with the Papatoetoe Ravens to create an incredible travel itinerary. We’re arranging everything from flights and transfers through to ensuring their own Haka Educational Tours guide is always on hand with local knowledge and expertise. This is set to be the trip of a lifetime for these young players, with exposure to top international competition, training opportunities and cultural experiences. Throughout the tour they’ll be taking in historic sights with their guide, visiting local rugby clubs and schools, touring major international rugby stadiums and playing […]
One of the many things we love about educational tourism is that it’s often synergistic with conservation. You’d be hard pressed to find a better example of this than Tongariro River Rafting and its incredible contribution to the Blue Duck Project. The project works to increase Whio numbers on the Tongariro and surrounding rivers through a comprehensive pest control programme. Tongariro River Rafting plays a very active part in that programme.
This week marked the first tour of many where we partnered with Love Your Coast. Our aim is to help clean up New Zealand coastlines while educating our touring students on ecology, environmentalism and sustainability. The students have had an incredible experience.
We’re proud to be part of a well balanced workplace with our General Manager, Eleri Williams, heading up a high-performing team of women and men. We know this is still not the case in many businesses and industries. That’s why we’re passionate about facilitating experiences that inspire and motivate the next generation of women.
Haka Educational Tours are excited to announce a new Partnership with Eat My Lunch. Eat My Lunch provides lunches to students across New Zealand who usually go without lunch. One in 4 Kiwi children live in poverty and go to school without food every day. We want to support Eat My Lunch in helping to change this. As part of our partnership, we’ll be volunteering and donating lunches when we receive post-tour feedback, as well as using them to provide lunches for tours and other events. Lunches donated to schools include three items, usually a wholegrain sandwich with a protein and salad filling, a healthy snack (veggie sticks, yogurt or fruit) and a treat (biscuit, popcorn or pretzel) all inside a brown paper bag. We are really excited to be working with such an important organisation who match our own values and look forward to seeing the impact they have on children around New Zealand! To kick off our partnership, the Haka Educational Tours team volunteered with Eat My Lunch this morning (12 Feb 2019), making 2007 lunches which were then sent out to schools in need. We had a fantastic time catching up with the EML team and knowing we were helping to ensure some Kiwi students had lunch to eat today so they could concentrate and work hard all day! The varied geography and landscape that sets the scene for Hollywood blockbusters (think the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Piano, Pete’s Dragon, Mission Impossible: Fallout and The Meg) ticks all the boxes for your Geography field trip wish-list. Sitting at the bottom of the South Pacific ocean, around 2000km southeast of mainland Australia*, the two main islands of New Zealand may seem relatively small and insignificant in relation to the rest of the world. Don’t be misled, though, New Zealand is actually a submerged continent (Zealandia) that sank after breaking away from Australia 60–85 million years ago! Due to its position on the boundary of the Australian Plate and Pacific Plates, great forces have been at work to forge the landscape that will bring Geography lessons to life for your students. New Zealand Geology and Geography Field Trip Ideas Explore volcanic plateaus featuring geothermal-fed hot water springs, geysers and boiling mud pools Take your students on a guided ski trip amidst towering mountain ranges fringed by subtropical forests See six volcanoes and never leave the city of Auckland (built on a dormant volcanic field with over 50 volcanoes within an area of 1,000 square kilometres) Marvel […]
Today’s world is so full of acronyms, it can be hard to keep track of what’s what. In the educational world, STEM is pretty well-known these days – but one that we’re increasingly interested in is the newer alternative ‘STEAM’.
