Central Connecticut State University We’re excited to welcome Central Connecticut State University to New Zealand North Island for their Culture Tour in December 2018. Some activities that they will experience is the Footprints Twilight Tour which will take them deep into the Waipoua Forest, a tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set, and a scenic cruise on the famous Lake Taupo. Learning objectives include New Zealand culture and environmental understanding and immersion.
Appleby College, Canada Appleby College will be coming to New Zealand in March 2019 to experience the amazing sights and cultural experiences that the North Island of New Zealand has to offer. They will be travelling north of Auckland first to visit Paihia where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed, before heading down to Wellington, the world’s windiest capital. With a great mix of cultural and educational inclusions, we can’t wait to host them and see what they’ll learn along the way!
Western Springs High School Western Springs High School, based in Auckland, will be traveling with us to Europe in April 2019! The students will be visiting Berlin, Germany and Greece on a bespoke History and Classics tour. Highlights include a historical tour of Berlin, including gaining an understanding of the Berlin Wall and why it was constructed, as well as learning about the persecution of the Jewish people in WWII. In Greece, the students will visit Athens and see the main sights in the city, as well as visiting the Island of Crete and the war cemeteries there. We can’t wait to hear all about the amazing learning experiences they’ll encounter in Europe!

Ferny Grove High School A tour that explores the best of both ski hubs in the Southern Lakes region of New Zealand‘s South Island – the students from Ferny Grove were in for a treat when they travelled with us in July! Beginning in Queenstown, the group enjoyed two days of skiing/snowboarding at the Remarkables, before having an active “rest” day in Arrowtown and the Cardrona Valley. From day four, the students were based in Wanaka, with the opportunity to enjoy the Southern Alps from a new perspective and to ski Cardrona and Treble Cone, before transfering back to Queenstown as they headed home on day 8!
De La Salle College We love welcoming back students from De La Salle College and showing them the ropes on the ski slopes of the South Island! Along with plenty of mountain time, there was ample time to enjoy some of the best of Queenstown’s adventure activities like Funyaking and rafting! 6 days long, and fully jam-packed with snow, sunshine, and lots of fun – this was yet another amazing tour!
Western Springs School In April 218, students from the Western Springs School departed on a 13 day USA STEM tour that took them from Orlando to Houston and then all the way across to San Francisco! Throughout their trip, the students gained invaluable science and technology skills from experiences like the Kennedy Space Camp, a visit to the Academy of Science in California, while also having the opportunity to experience and observe the best and most iconic landscapes and aspects the US has to offer. Sydney Technical High School The boys from Sydney Tech High School went for a tour of a lifetime to the USA in April! The students learnt about all things Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as they enjoy time at Kennedy Space Center, and participate in a range of educational programs at Disney, Universal Studies and Seaworld. Other highlights for the students include the Pirate Dinner show and time to relax and enjoy Cocoa Beach. We’re counting down for this one, too!
Ringwood College In March 2018, the students from Ringwood College travelled to New Zealand, in conjunction with Flight Centre Australia, to begin a New Zealand tour itinerary that truly ticks all the boxes – fascinating historical visits, thrilling adventure activities and enlightening cultural experiences! For 12 days the students experienced the very best of the North and South Island, making their way from Auckland to Queenstown, with the chance to visit the bubbling pools of Rotorua, a Maori village, cruise Milford Sound and so much more!
West Vancouver High School In March we were excited to welcome the all-girls rugby team from West Vancouver High School on their sports tour of New Zealand. This tour has been arranged in conjunction with Tempo Holidays – New Zealand, and saw the students travelling across the North and South Islands to experience the best of kiwi sport, culture and geography. Whilst on tour, the students got to make local connections as they stayed with host families, and explored some of NZ’s local secret spots like Hot Water Beach! Come back soon, eh!?
Frontier Regional School In Feb 2018, the school from Boston, Massachusetts embarked upon a Geography & Science Adventure Tour across NZ. Set in the stunning Kiwi summer, students got to experience kayaking at the famous Cathedral Cove, bone carving, exploring Hobbiton, and a whole lot more. See you next year!
Singapore American School For the 8th consecutive year we were so pleased to welcome back the students from Singapore American School on their annual eco-tourism study tour of New Zealand. This tour highlights the very best of the South Island, incorporating a taste of the city, Christchurch, before taking the students back to nature – beginning with a dolphin encounter in Kaikoura! After this incredibly special natural experience, the students will head into the stunning wilderness of Abel Tasman National Park for a back-to-basics camping experience. Imagine nights spent under the milky way, with friends and fellow students, learning about the environment – it’s as special and educational as it sounds! See you again soon, SAS!
Massey University – #2 Not long after the students from Massey University completed their first tour, they came back on tour with us again to spend a weekend experiencing the amazing secrets of Maori culture. The students spent the weekend in Whanganui, enjoying a night in a Marae after an adventurous day spent on the river. A truly short but splendid trip!
Massey University – #1 Our second scheduled tour for 2018 was a short and sweet seven day North Island sampler! The students from Massey University began their NZ North Island experience by travelling up to the stunning Bay of Islands, before making their way south through Auckland, Rotorua, Taupo, and ending in Palmerston North! During their journey, they had the opportunity to explore the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, discover Middle Earth in Hobbiton and see the spectacular Huka Falls in Taupo!
Manchester University (USA) To kick off 2018, we welcomed Manchester University (USA) in conjunction with Sports Travel Academy for a Tourism/Adventure tour in the Land of the Long White Cloud. Beginning in Auckland, the group made their way down the North Island, before hitting the South Island and heading for Queenstown. Along the way, highlights included the Auckland City Bridge Climb, Rotorua Canopy Tours and Dolphin Swimming in Kaikoura! See you soon, Man U!

Northern Beaches TAFE – Kia Ora to our friends across the Tasman! We had the pleasure of welcoming you to Aotearoa on the 27th of Oct for a 10 day North Island “adventure tourism”-oriented adventure! From start to finish this tour introduced the students to some of the North Island’s most scenic and cultural locations, including the historic Waitangi Treaty Grounds, all the way to the stunning Tongariro Crossing! Come back anytime, guys! We had such a good time!
North London Collegiate – Jeju In October 2017, the South Korean school came to NZ for a Geography/Adventure tour. Aotearoa’s diverse and breathtaking landscape was the perfect outdoor classroom for the students! Therewas also a whole heap of exciting activities lined up for the group (like Funyaking, the Luge, a Haka, a glacier walk, and a whole heap more). It was a pleasure to host you NLCJ! Yarram Secondary College On the 30th September 2017, the school from Victoria, Australia set off to the USA for a 9 day STEM tour. This exciting itinerary took the students to Orlando – specifically the Kennedy Space Center for an interactive and informative multi-day experience. Of course, there also took a side trip to Disney Word Resorts, Florida!
Hawaii Inspection Tour On the 30th of September 2017, Haka Educational Tours ran a 7-day Hawaiian Inspection Tour specifically for teachers and professors. Here you can gauge the itinerary we’ve created before we host your school and university groups! It was a total success! Here is the itinerary page, which will show you the broad range of subjects the Hawaiian Tour can cover. This tour is in conjunction with Hawaiian Airlines and the Hawaii Tourism board.
Saracens Rugby Club Rugby is a quintessential aspect of New Zealand culture and it is truly the game that can stop the nation. Beginning on the 29th of September, some of our youngest up-and-coming rugby stars travelled to picturesque Queenstown for the Under 10 Global Games tournament to play a range of games, develop their rugby skills and have the opportunity to make lifelong friends that share their passion for the sport. After they hung up their boots each afternoon they were busy experiencing exciting activities like the Luge and the Thunder Jet to wind down! Well played team!
Pioneer Senior High School The North Island of New Zealand truly has it all – breathtaking scenery, thrilling adventure activities and a whole range of truly unique and diverse environments. From the 14th of September, the Pioneer Senior High School spent 11 days soaking in everything this stunning region has to offer – including 4 full days skiing or snowboarding included, and plenty of free time to experience the true Kiwi lifestyle. This tour was arranged in conjunction with Flight Centre Australia, and we hope you had an awesome trip Pioneer!
Springfield Central High School In September 2017, this Queensland school launched over to the U.S. of A. for a STEM tour. They experienced astronaut simulation, visited the NASA Kennedy Space Center, did a whole lot more. Check out what they got up to here.
Mentone Girls’ Grammar School As far as cultural international tours go, New Zealand is definitely one of the most diverse and interesting destinations imaginable! The first group of girls from Mentone Girls’ Grammar were introduced to two important aspects of NZ culture: a diverse geology & intriguing history that influences how we operate today when they toured with us in June. We were stoked to host the second group in mid September and show them the same awesome NZ sights! The tour page for both dates can be found here.
Trinity College In September 2017, the students from Trinity College took on a rugby-oriented and action-packed itinerary of New Zealand that saw them tackle teams and activities across the North island! The boys had the chance to experience all things rugby while on tour – playing four matches, attending the New Zealand Sport academy to refine their skills, and even visiting a rugby museum to learn about the past ‘greats’! There was also ample time for the students to engage in some fun team bonding activities like the luge in Rotorua and a relaxing visit to the Polynesian spa! This tour was arranged in conjunction with Forty2, and we were so pleased to host the students!
Ohoka Rugby Club On the 21st of September, we were thrilled to support the Under 13’s team from Ohoka Rugby Club, who were on a rugby tour with us. The team competed in the Global Games rugby festival in Taupo, playing 3 days of matches against other schools and clubs! It’ll was a great opportunity to make friends with other kiwi kids – on and off the field.
Mount Albert Grammar School What better destination for a space camp than the United States?! This group have just finished up their tour – an exhilarating North American experience. The students have returned to NZ as successful Space Camp Academy graduates after spending the first part of their tour learning all things space, science and technology. They also return with good memories from their time spent in Florida, San Fran’ and swimming with some big, friendly manatees. See what else the got here while they were on tour!
De La Salle De La Salle College from Melbourne experienced their second Snow & Adventure tour in June 2017! The students were able to enjoy perfect conditions at The Remarkables, with bluebird skies and a fresh blanket of soft snow allowing them to learn and master new skills on our world renowned and state of the art ski-fields. We are looking forward to hosting you again!
Massey University (Disaster Risk & Emergency Management) On the 28th of June, this group from Massey Uni embarked on a tour to learn more on a topic that has become close to NZ’s heart in recent years. With the infamous quakes of Christchurch, Kaikoura’s isolation in late 2016, and Auckland’s numerous volcanoes – there was no shortage of fascinating subject matter to educate and inspire the Massey Uni students while they were on tour this year. It was great having you on tour with us, Massey!
St Mary’s St Mary’s Catholic College from Cairns enjoyed their 2016 snow & adventure tour so much, they joined us again for another tour that departed June 25th 2017! This time around their tour included a visit to the gorgeous Wanaka, as well as a revisit to the stunning Queenstown. It was great having you here and we can’t wait to bring on next Winter 2018!
Mentone Girls’ Grammar School As far as a cultural international tours go, New Zealand is the perfect destination! Massey University (Communication/Marketing & Creative Expression/Digital Media) On the 14th of June, this group from Massey Uni set off on a trip that took them to the main hubs of NZ: Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. With some stops in NZ’s smaller towns, the group had insider exposure to a variety of local tourism brands. They saw how companies have found success in promoting themselves in certain ways, be it through traditional or digital marketing. It was great having you here in June!
Massey University (Agriculture & Environment) Massey University began their tour in the ”adventure capital” Queenstown on the 1st of June, and they explored the length of the South Island, before delving into the North. Thanks to the importance NZ places on its environment and agriculture, traversing Aotearoa was an amazing destination for the students to learn more on the subject.
University of Northern Iowa Students took in all that Aotearoa has to offer. If it wasn’t the jaw dropping landscape, it was losing their breath while partaking in any of the numerous thrilling activities. Hope you enjoyed your time in our home, team!
Lee University The university from Cleveland embarked on an Educational Studies Tour on the 16th of May 2017! As well as taking in the sights and enjoying the awesome kiwi activities, students had the great opportunity to visit local schools and get a taste of what the schooling system in NZ is like. Darwin High School Darwin High School started 2017 off the right way, as this group headed to the States for a STEM (Science, Tehcnology, Engineering and Maths) tour! They paid a visit to the La Brea Tar Pits in LA, took in the magnificent Grand Canyon in Vegas, before exploring the Space Center in Orlando. Check out their tour page here.
The British School in Colombo The British School in Colombo enjoyed taking in the sights of New Zealand in early 2017! The group picked the perfect country for a geography tour, as NZ is a top contender for the most stunning and diverse landscape. Check out their itinerary here.
Marist College Ashgrove On the 30th March, Marist College Ashgrove embarked on a rugby tour of NZ! The rugby-mad nation was the perfect place to learn more about the sport, as well as lacing up and playing against some kiwi schools; St Andrew’s, Nelson College and Garin College all lined up to play! Marist won all 3. There was also plenty of time set aside for some epic NZ activities. Think exploring Franz Josef glacier, a thrilling ride on the Thunder Jet, and racing at Skyline Queenstown on the luge!
The Hotchkiss School The school from the states embarked on a Science & Adventure Tour of NZ on the 10th of March 2017. They explored some of the world’s most rugged and diverse landscape – as well as enjoying a whole bunch of activities! The tour included a trip to White Island, to the breathtaking Waitomo Caves, Te Papa, and to the impressive Tasman Glaciers.
Singapore American School The Singapore American school started their Eco-Adventure Tour of NZ on the 10th of Feb 2017. The tour had the students get as close to NZ’s beautiful landscape as you can get. Think camping in tents, swimming with dolphins, hiking and more. We loved having you with us!
The Gordon Institute of TAFE Travel and tourism students from Victoria had a fabulous 9 day tour of the South Island in NZ in November 2016. When they weren’t meeting industry professionals and learning the ins-and-outs of the industry, they took in the sights and enjoyed the thrill-seeking activities as tourists themselves.
Peterhouse Boys High School The Peterhouse Boys High School rugby team came over from Zimbabwe for a 16 day tour, jam-packed with matches against local Kiwi schools and adventure activities. The boys even had the chance to see the meet the legendary All Blacks before cheering them on in a Bledisloe Cup test match against Australia! You can read more about what they got up to here.
Dickson College Dickson College from Canberra, Australia is in Queenstown to enjoy a brilliant Kiwi winter, and hit the world famous slopes of the South Island. Their trip began on July 30th, and you can find their trip page here.

University of Wisconsin-Stout The students from Wisconsin enjoyed a Jan 2017 “The Lands of Middle Earth” tour! They spent around 2 weeks travelling the country to study, sketch and paint various Lord of the Rings filming locations. It was the perfect chance for the students to hone their skills, as well as giving them the opportunity to take in New Zealand’s jaw dropping landscape. Check out their tour page here.
